A Passion for Storytelling

Contemporary techniques, a traditional aesthetic, and a passion for telling stories that touch people. From independent feature films to commercial production, we approach each project with professionalism and passion.

Wendlwood founder Nicolas Wendl was born in Munich, Germany in 1990, to a German father and French mother. He is fluent in French, English and German. His passion is directing films. Two of his films have been screened at the Cannes Film Festival, in the Short Film Corner in the Film Market. Three other short films of his have been screened at the Big Bear Lake International Film Festival.

Since his junior year in high school, Nicolas worked to hone his skills and grow in the art of filmmaking and storytelling. And his hard work paid dividends. In 2008 he was the first high school student to be accepted into the American Pavilion internship program at the Cannes Film Festival. This experience helped accelerate his understanding of the industry and art of filmmaking.

After graduating with Honors at the International Bilingual School of Aix-en-Provence in France, Nicolas moved to California and earned a BFA, Summa Cum Laude, in Film Production at the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University. He is working currently as a film director on feature, commercial and promotional projects.
